Effective Ways Of Overcoming Examination Resits in Colleges of Education

It is obviously not anyone's intention to retake a particular programme or course pursued. But there could be a circumstance where a person may not exceed the expected grade and may have to retake the course.

Resit becomes a blockage to academic progress, one spends extra money and time on  already attended classes just to cover up.

The only advantage in resit is that it helps the one who takes it  to have the zeal to learn and do more  in the next academic year.

What is the cause of retaking a course already done ?

Some of the causes of resit has been stated below

1. Failure to write or less on  attempted question : Many students due to their inability of knowing a topic or question attempt that question with less knowledge and end up writing just a little.

Some end up leaving blank spaces because they feel they can't provide the rest of the answers which causes harm during marking 

2. Providing irrelevant answers. Students in many institutions end up providing answers known as "chaff" to questions asked. Mostly, they fail to adhere to instructions given on the question paper and end up providing more answers than asked which may or may not be right.

3. The attempt of the worst questions first. The principle in an examination hall is to answer the easy questions first and end up on the worst question. You will end up wasting all time allocated for work to be done on the worst question instead of having time to rummage around you will end up giving fishy answers to the easier questions

WAYS TO OVERCOME EXAMINATION RESIT

1. Provide adequate and enough answers to questions in an examination hall you are free from resit. This can only happen when one sits with the book and grab more knowledge before the start of the examination. 

2. Mostly, irrelevant questions irritate examiners thus students must desist from providing such during the examination.

3. Reading instructions before the examination is the basic thing one needs to do during an examination period.

4. When you also learn with people with higher grades you are likely to excel on your side too since they end up instilling knowledge in you.
