The leadership of TTAG has stated that there is the need for an increase in allowances due to the constant galloping of foodstuffs in the market .The current allowance of Gh¢400, out of which Gh¢196 is used for feeding, is no longer enough to cater to the physiological needs of trainees.
(TTAG) is calling on the Government of Ghana and the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission
(GTEC) to increase the allowances paid to
teacher trainees in the 46 public Colleges of Education.
The leadership of the association made this plea during a meeting on the 14th of April to discuss issues affecting trainees.
TTAG has urged GTEC to consider increasing the allowances for trainees satisfaction to produce a better output.
The association has also assured its members that it will engage all relevant stakeholders to address the issues and take it into consideration as well
It is hoped that the government and the entire authorities will consider the plea of TTAG and take the necessary steps to increase allowance.
Updates concerning increment would be published if government gives SLTF the go ahead.
